Build your own compact arcade machine!
This set of plans includes a step-by-step guide, templates, and a parts list to build a playable arcade machine the size of a briefcase.
Panels can be made with a laser cutter, a CNC, or built with using standard woodworking equipment. The cabinet is made from 1/4” baltic birch plywood with a few small blocks of 1/2” wood/plywood.
While the wiring may look complex, this is a great beginner project for someone new to electronics. There is no need to solder anything and all the connections screw, click, or plug in. The machine is designed to be easily worked on should it need any maintenance or upgrades.
The machine uses a Raspberry Pi 3B+ as the motherboard, and all the software is available for free. In the video I use Batocera, but there are many options depending on what functions you prefer.
Woodworking skill level - Intermediate
Electronics skill level - Beginner
Final Dimensions - 10.25” X 21.25” X 5.75” ( 261 mm X 540 mm X 147 mm)
